The AFPK examination is separated into Module 1 (Financial planning , code of Ethics, Retirement planning, Real Estate planning, and Estating planning ) and Module 2 (Insurance planning , Investment planning, and Taxes planning). Module 1 is held during the 1st class from 9:00 am to 10:50 am, and Module 2 in the 2nd class from 11:30 am to 1:20 pm.

The CFP examination is separated into theoretical and practical types. The theoretical type is administered during the 1st class (3:00 pm to 5:00 pm) and the 2nd class (5:30 pm to 7:30 pm) on the 1st day (Saturday), and the practical type is administered during the 3rd class (10:00 am to 12:00 am) and 4th class (12:40 pm to 3:10 pm) on the 2nd day (Sunday).

1. AFPK Certification Exam Qualification: All AFPK educational courses should be completed at an AFPK educational organization accredited with FPSB Korea. Note, however, that all or part of the educational requirements is waived for a certificant who is exempt from such requirements as determined by FPSB Korea. On the other hand, those who are partially exempt from the educational requirements should complete the educational courses for those subjects not covered by the partial exemption.

2. CFP Certification Exam Qualification: Must be a valid AFPK certificant, and should have completed all CFP educational courses at a CFP educational organization accredited with FPSB Korea. Note, however, AFPK certification is not required if you have one of degree or credential, which is FPSB Korea approved as fulfilled education requirements for CFP certification.

If education is completed at an educational organization designated by FPSB Korea as verified by the educational organization concerned, continuous applications without an expiration of validity are possible; there is no limit to the number of applications and time period. Since educational contents may be reedited every year, however, each examinee should take note of the updated contents.

Currently, applications by Internet and mail are allowed. For an Internet application, the applicant may visit FPSB Korea's website, sign up as a site member, and then apply for the examination(s). For a mail application, the applicant should fill out and mail an <Application Form for CFP (AFPK) Certification Examination> that can be downloaded from the library on FPSB Korea's website.

The admission ticket for an examination can be printed via the Internet during the period beginning 1 week after the closing of the application period to the date of the examination.

To cancel an application for examination after its submission, log in at FPSB Korea's website within the predetermined cancellation period. For a 100% refund of payment by credit card, an immediate payment cancelation is provided; in other cases, the refund is provided to the designated account within one week of the end of the examination. A refund is possible only within a specified period. Failure to cancel within the specified period is tantamount to waiving the refund of the application fee for the examination.

A change from a partial examination to a whole examination, or vice versa, is possible by logging in at FPSB Korea's website within the change of application period. A refund of the examination fee due to a reduction in the number of examinations shall be deposited to the designated account within one week of the end of examination. Since the amount of refund depends on the application change and cancellation period, as shown in the examination schedule, a 100% refund, minus the fee amount for the remaining examination, is allowed if the number of examinations is lowered within the 100% refund period; if the number of examinations is reduced within the 50% refund period, a 50% refund, minus the fee amount for the remaining examination, is allowed. A change in the number of examinations is only possible within the specified period and by submitting an application within that period.

The admission ticket for the examination, ID (certificate of residence, driver's license, etc.), calculator, felt-tipped pen for computer use, and correction tape should be brought.

A copy of the application for a re-issuance of identification, such as certificate of residence, driver's license issued by a public organization, or certified certificate of residence, should be brought to the examination room.

Invalid driver's licenses or passports are not acceptable. If none of these items is available, immediate issuance should be arranged in advance of the examination date. Student identification cards are not recognized. If the examinee's ID is misplaced right before the examination date, however, a temporary certificate issued from a village office, with a photo attached, should be presented to the proctor, since the reissuance of the actual certificate of residence takes some time.

Any examinee found to have a radio terminal such as a mobile phone in the examination room during examination hours shall have his/her examination invalidated. Accordingly, mobile phones should not be brought into the examination room. Mobile phones brought into the examination room should be placed in front of or at the rear of the examination room before the start of the examination. In this case in particular, remember to turn off the power of your mobile phone in order to prevent it from causing a disturbance during the examination hours.

Currently the following calculators specified by FPSB Korea can be used: a Hewlett Packard 10B, 10BII, 12C, 12C Platinum, and 17BII and a Texas Instrument BAIIPLUS or Professional. For general calculators, the use of a calculator with a memory function or a calculator for engineering purposes is not allowed. In case an examinee arrives to the examination without a specified calculator, the proctor may lend him/her a calculator for the examination as provided by the examination committee. Note, however, that the use of an unfamiliar calculator may place the examinee at a disadvantage.

Acts such as having a proxy take the examination, leaking exam questions, defying the reasonable directions of the proctor, disrupting the examination proceedings, falsifying the examination application, or others deemed inappropriate by FPSB Korea shall be considered illegal, in which case a successful examination result of the examinee shall be nullified and a new application for a certification examination shall be prohibited for up to 3 years from the date of occurrence of the illegal act.

As a rule, answer sheets are not opened since difficulties in pursuing the administration of a fair examination, as well as administrative burden, arise due to unnecessary arguments over the scoring results resulting from such disclosure. However, since we cannot simply ignore the requests of unsuccessful examinees, manual confirmation is done for those requesting, and the examinees are notified of the results. In such situations, however, rescoring and provision of the corresponding answer is limited to a one-week period. In addition, examinees with a different opinion on a pass or fail decision can apply for a rescoring of their results at FPSB Korea within 7 days of the result announcement. FPSB Korea informs the results of rescoring within 7 days of receipt of the application. If any flaws are found in the administrative processing of FPSB Korea at the end of the rescoring, FPSB Korea takes corrective action not only for the applicants of the rescoring but for all corresponding examinees and a corresponding announcement is made.

The examination subcommittee reviews all opinions received. At the end of the review, if the examination subcommittee decides that the opinions received are reasonable, and FPSB Korea acknowledges such, appropriate actions are taken.

1. AFPK Certification: For a partial pass, certification remains valid from the date of passing the examination through the next 4 consecutive AFPK certification examinations (1 year). For a partial pass by examination type, however, only a notice of passing is sent, not the actual scores. For a complete pass, certification remains valid for 3 years after the date of passing the examination. The AFPK certification should be obtained within the validity period; if the validity period expires, the AFPK certification examination should be taken again (exception: 5 years for examinees who passed the examinations in 2006).
